Issues with Titan Extruder
March 03, 2017 02:24PM
Hello everyone!

I recently bought a Titan extruder and an e3d v6 hotend.
But I haven' managed to get one good result since I mounted these things.
I am having the following issues:
+as you can see on the pictures, the top layers have gaps in in it, while the rest of the print is not underextruded
+in some places the extruder does not extrude enough plastic
+i am currently using 837 E-Steps/mm like suggested on the titan assembly page, but I think my controller board
uses 1/32 microstepping, do I have to use another value? I have the original motor from e3d with 0,9°/Step and a MKS gen 1.2 with DRV8825.

Thanks for help

Niklas

I'm sure the 837 e-steps are meant for 1/16 microstepping. You'd have to double that with DRV8825 drivers.
The easiest way to find out, is to unscrew the nozzle ( while hot ).
Then let it cool down, send M302 ( allow cold extrusion ) and send 100mm of filament through the extruder. Change e-steps until extruding 100mm turns out to be 100mm for real.
