Extruder is too far off bed/keeps hitting side of it

Hey guys,

I recently flashed a Da Vinci 1.0A with repetier instead of the XYZprinting firmware in order to have more control in my prints. The problem I'm running into is that no matter what software I use (Simplify3d, Slic3r, Repetierhost) the extruder bumps into the glass bed or it starts printing WAY too far from the bed. I've tried just about everything like offsetting the z axis on Simplify3D and Slic3r. Am I doing something wrong? I'm trying to find a good g-code to use that will allow me to print similarly to the original firmware (i.e. wait for the bed/extruder to heat, adjust bed so it's close to extruder, etc) but it doesn't look like anyone has a good one.

What else should I do in order to be able to print? For some reason, the bed's "home" position is very high up and too close to the extruder. Help, please!

Sounds like wrong settings in the firmware rather than a host problem.

Have you calibrated the printer? Have you leveled and zeroed the bed?
