I built a reprap and had it running right just tried to calibrate my extruder the other day and when I uploaded my new steps on my extruder my printer went crazy it want home like the home buttons want do anything the printer will only move twords the ends tops once the end stop is triggered if I keep Joing in that direction I can then go back the opposite direction that many steps
Switched to Marlin everything's some what working my pronterface is backwards on my x and y and my z axis want move any idea on how to set the steps and a good starting point because motors are just humming
Has nothing to do with steps.
You need to configure your endstops and axis direction correctly.
As for the humming: check your stepping and motor current and make sure you don't go overboard with the movement speed.
