Coincidence?

I've two printers and have had 3 blocked hot ends in the last 2 days. My printers are out in a workshop (shed) and its cold now around 7 deg C. Are these things related? One printer is setup for abs and one for pla.

Hard to say as blocked hotends can have multiple reasons:
Bad printer calibration, bad hotend, collapsed telfon liner, contaminated filament, failing thermistor, wrong print settings...

I agree with Downunder30m, an example of contamination is if you've processed any wood in the shed. The wood dust could settle on the filament, print a few meters and both will get jammed pretty quickly. Could also be dust from outside if it's dry, or if the shed is old and made of wood, a storm may loosen some dust and land on the printer. Wipe the filament with a white cloth and see if there's any residue. If so, see if you can make an enclosure for the filament spool and lead the filament into the printer using a PTFE tube.
