Continuing a stopped print

I was doing a 31 Hr print, and it errored very near the end. I know the exact layer it stopped at. Is there a way to take the Gcode file and slice a model from it starting at the layer it stopped at?

My object stopped at layer 521 of 576. All I need is the last layers, then I can glue them on the original object.

In Cura there's an option to cut off the lowest xx.x mm in the "advanced/quality" section.
But you could also edit the gcode file and erase the first 521 layers. The already printed part has to be in place of course. Also the start code should be left untouched.

Sounds like a plan. Thanx for the tip.

In Simplify3D you can specify where a print starts and ends, this way it is possible to continue a print right on top of the failed original.
Also means no glue required winking smiley

Probably not the ideal solution, but you can also use the free Netfabb Basic to cut a model into parts and save each part separately.

As I said, not the best solution for this problem, but I have used it in the past to cut out a single item from a multi-item stl file.
