I don't bother with a print cooling fan when printing PLA, but I would probably get better bridges if I did.

I have a print fan installed, and it really helps with bridges and overhangs when it's enabled (for PLA, I don't use ABS).

The use of a fan for printing with PLA is highly recommended. PLA likes to cool down fast after leaving the nozzle.
Also you can have larger overhang angles with less support structures. We have very good experiences with using a fan for PLA printing.

I have a fan nozzled towards the hotend tip but i'm not sure how much it actually helps, because the fan isn't powerful enough to blow much air at all.
