Adjusting E steps on the fly

Not sure if the this is the right section but oh well. I have a panelou2 and was wondering if anyone knows if I adjust the e-steps per minute while printing if it will have any emidiate effect? Or will I have to stop and start the print over?

Thanks, Adam

if you adjusting while printing, your layers won't match

It has an almost immediate effect after the move buffer empties, that usually takes just a small fraction of a second.

It is useful to do that when calibrating the E-steps for example, or when you want to vary the amount of material extruded for one reason or another (e.g. change of filament mid-print, etc.).

Eh, e-steps per millimeter is what we are talking about, right?
Increasing the speed of the extruder would do nothing against underextrusion.
