Problem with the output of the filament
July 31, 2015 08:24PM
Hello:

I built a Sintron Prusa I3 with a MK8 extruder. The first 3 small test pieces were printed well. Then the filament randomly started out sideways and not always down, which prevents either new parts are printed. Calibration of the extruder think is correct.

Please any idea to solve this problem.

Does the filament still come through the tip of the nozzle or somewhere else? ( eg. through the thread in the hotend?)

If it comes through the tip in an angle, it might be damaged.

If it comes out anywhere else, you have to make sure that the nozzle tightens against the stainless steel thread and NOT against the aluminum heater block.

The filament still come through the tip of the nozzle. The filament sometimes goes down other sideways, it seems to lack strength.

typically that is caused by a partially blocked nozzle.
You can try the fishing method to clean it out. heat the hotend to 160(PLA) 190(ABS) so that the filament get soft but not fluid. then use a peice of filament, by hand, and run it into the hotend and pull it back out quickly, do that a few times and see if you can remove the blockage. if not then you will need to disassemble and clean it.
