Extrusion width weird with 0.25mm nozzle

Hello guys,

I'm facing a problem only with my 0.25mm nozzle. The plastic is too much spaced into the first layer ! I can peel it out with my fingers.

And of course, the walls and the top surface don't have any problem.

I think this is related to my extrusion width parameters but I should be probably wrong as I have tried different first layer extrusion width from 0.4 to 1.2mm. The 1st layer was different, but the spacing was still there !

I'm probably missing something, do you have any ideas ?

Thank you ! smiling smiley

Kind Regards,

Nice point !

No, I'm not using this feature for this kind of part ! winking smiley

I think I have figure out the problem. Not that easy !

Let's focus on these 3 initial parameters
- 1st layer - Layer Height = 0.1mm
- 1st layer - Extrusion width = 0.4mm
- Z offset - +0.2mm

If I set down the Extrusion width of the 1st layer to 0.25mm. There are no gaps anymore, perfect. However, the part doesn't stick to the bed anymore.
Solution ? Increase the layer height to 0.2mm => The part sticks better but still goes away during printing
Solution ? Increase again the layer height to 0.24 (for a 0.25mm nozzle) and the extrusion width of the 1st layer to 0.3mm. Problem ? It's not working, the part isn't sticking to the bed.
Magical solution: Reduce now the Zoffset to 0.1mm.

I think you got the idea, these 3parameters are linked to get the 1st layer sticking to the bed.

Ah, that makes sense. The small nozzle and .1mm layer height would make the first layer nozzle position very critical. Glad you got it fixed.
