Blobs on prints - Belt tension or software issure?

Hello,

I designed a shaft, for a project i'm working on. I decided to make quick print, and therefore went with 0.3mm layer height.
The shaft is designed in Designspark Mechanic, and sliced in simplify3d.
Heres what came out:

See those blobs on the surface? What can cause this?
- Prior to this, i just did a perfect part..
- Is this just what you can expect in quality of 0.3mm?

My printer is a Prusa I2.
I tried tightening the belts, which resultet in the end x carriers not moving properly down when homing confused smiley

Hi,

I got that also at start, and for me was problem of over extrusion, too much plastic# speed and the "plastic don't know where to go so move left or right.

Try to reduce during a print the extrusion % by 2% at same time.

For this use a wall cube single wall and you will see it if it improved.

I see also small air bubbles. When you print do you have some noise like bubble exploding? if yes and you are using ABS, then your ABS have absorb too much water, or when they process it the leave it inside water too long.
You can place your complete coil inside a oven at 80 deg Celsius/4hrs. no risk. do not go over 90 deg. 4hrs you will certainly dry 1/3 of the coil.

For me to dry a complete coil 1Kg of material it took me 16Hrs ( industrial plastic oven).

AH! i was beginning to consider that posibility as well!
- Do you have any preferable single walled cube?

I just checked up on it and noticed something. My filament has gone up from 1.70mm to 1.75mm.. Could This be the reason for the over extrusion?
- Also, i have a panelolu2 display, and i Tried Changing the flowrate for flow and flow0. But nothing changed on the home screen, is This normal?

Hi

Here are 2 cubes, 1 single wall and one full box.

sorry but I do not know panelolu, and for setting change during prints I would prefer use the computer connected on the printer.

Check arround for answers. Or try to set your settings before printing.

Thanks for getting back to me smiling smiley

I think the filament had a temporary change of diaemeter to 1.75-1.77.. Its back to 1.7 now and the prints are looking great again smiling smiley

Amazing that 0.05mm in diameter change can completely ruin a print like that..

Good to know all ok.

What is nozzle diameter? Maybe change for one size over, will certainly help. But the best is to change filament supplier.

My nozzle diameter is 0.4mm - And i just changed to a new roll of filament. And you were right about the moist in the filament. The new roll prints perfect smiling smiley
