Another newbie with printing problems...
April 26, 2015 09:43AM
Hi folks,
Using an Ormerod 2. New printer, just built. Have completed the commissioning and calibration. Produced two test prints without problems, including the 3-axis calibration piece.

Have just tried to print two simple boxes (downloaded from Thingiverse) - with Gcode produced by Slicr3.

In both cases the print started out fine, then later it looks like the axis calibration moved - or a belt jumped a tooth or something, as the printing became displaced. See attached photo.

So far I haven't figured out what's happening so any help much appreciated.

Thanks,
Ralph

After checking for any mechanical issues, such as loose pulleys on motors, loose belts, etc., check motor currents. If currents are where they should be, try reducing acceleration/jerk.

Sorted.

Got a bit more tension on the belts and tightened the pullys. Printed out one of the boxes with no problems, so happy days.....

Thanks for the advice.

Ralph
