All,
Setup
Sftwr: Mac Pronterface,Slic3r,
Hardware: MM1.5+, Heated bed. Geetech 3mmx3mm Jhead,
Material: pla

Having tried my first print. Also having Zero'd the tip. using the paper route.
Once my print starts. it looks to me like several things may be off.
1: the extruder is pushing out more plastic than can be pushed out.
(my rational is. on the hot end. only a small line of plastic is coming out. Also if left to run like this for
say 5-20 seconds. the hobbed end ends up chewing thru the incoming pla.)
So could it be that my hotend is clogged?
I did not verify the tip was a 3mm But I will.

Also, when the print first starts. and the bead/fence is being printed all the way around the part. should the Z motors bee free
to manually adjust by hand? (for me they are not)

Turns out my Jhead did get clogged and or something.
I removed and inspected. its pretty much toast.
Time to buy a nice print head.
Any suggestions?

I would absolutely go with the E3d-V6. I'm new to pringting as well and the one problem I haven't had is with the hot-end
