Getting started with i2 prusa mendel

Hello, my name is Mr. Summers.
I recently bought an i2 prusa mendel 3D printer off ebay, and I have no idea how to use it.
I can design and make stl files but I don't know how to connect to my printer and send information for it to print with.
Is there a driver I need to install?
Please guide me through this learning experience and thank you very much.

The instructions are a little dependent on a couple of things:

What electronics board does your printer have?
Has the printer's board already got firmware loaded? If so, do you know what the firmware is?
