Try set the vref on the stepper a little bit higher.
Lower the z-axis speed and acceleration in marlin.
I've already tried up to 0.480 V on the vref with no success. I'll test the speed stuff.

Nope, it's never moved. Yes, the motherboard is set to 33 in configuration.h
