I think the molten filament gets up through the treads, as you can see on the picture. Is this normal?

Sometimes the extruder extruds too little filament, and seams having a hard time getting the filament out. I'm guessing this is because there are some halfmolten filament that is sticking to the filament that wants to come out.

This is what it should like when this happens: [www.youtube.com]

What should I do? Is there any better extruders out there that you can recomend?

The molten filament is under pressure in the hot end when the extruder feeds more filament. The leakage is common, and can be solved by adding a fiber washer and a thin M6 nut tightening it down onto the hot end.

Here's a photo of mine:

I would highly suggest insulating the hot end as well...

Thanks for your fast answer! I will try that.

Do you mean that I should insulate the hot end with a m6x32 washer, as on your picture? Do you think that will make it easier for the extruder to extrude the filament in the right speed, and not like in the movie I sent i my last post?

Insulating the aluminum block will help keep the heat from radiating to your other parts. On long duration prints, this can lead to the threaded tube becoming too hot, which can reult in jamming or 'noodling' the filament between the extruder gear and the tube. The only part that needs to be hot is the block. Everything above it works better when cool.

I would not use the extra washer, but instead use PTFE threading tape to seal the threads.

It's stuff like this:

But, unlike in the video, start with just a few windings.

@ MindRealm

Don't you have any problems with the z-nuts falling out?
You have your x-axis ( motormount and idler) upside down.

Hans.

No problems at all - they're very tight. I will probably end up installing THESE at some point anyway. I mounted them that way to have all wiring on the right, and didn't want the stepper motor sticking out as in FolgerTech's photos. (I really don't like a bunch of wires showing...)
