My print quality got really bad all of a sudden.

So I had to clean out my hot end this past weekend because it was constantly jamming. I put everything back in the right spot and everything but now my prints are coming out terrible.

Left is what the quality was like before, right is after I reinstalled the hot end.

I can't figure out what the problem is. Any ideas?

It a Ubis hot end on a Printrbot JR v1.

Did you print the small gear by itself? If so, you can't really compare these 2 objects. Printing single small items introduces heat management issues that could result in what you are seeing.

Is this PLA? If so, do you have a fan and have you set slicer options to turn the fan on?

Can you print two gears together to see if the quality improves?

Or whatever was in your hot end jamming it up is still in there...

The small gear was printed with a large gear (wades gear set).

I've got a fan that is constantly blowing in the hot end. Everything is set up the same.

I have a j head I am going to try to switch to and see if that helps.

I think my thermistor got messed up when I was cleaning the hotend. Took it out and re-seated it and now it's back to normal.
