In over a year of owning my Mendel90, today is the first day where I've gotten to the end of one of those tightly-wound 1KG spools of ABS (I have lots of colours so I tend to switch between them a LOT).
I've noticed the filament has such a tight coil radius that it is causing the entire spool to lift off my rollers, rather than unravelling as normal. It's a pain as I have to watch the printer and keep unravelling the reel by hand!
Does anybody have any suggestions for maybe heat-treating the reel in the oven or similar to relax the filament so that it unravels more smoothly? Is there a temperature at which the filament would relaxing instead of deforming?
