Print Quality Help
April 24, 2013 12:52PM
Printed my first test objects and the results are very encouraging, but still need some tweaking. I've attached photos of the thin wall and 20mm cube prints.

I'm looking for advice on which settings to adjust to fine tune the print. I'm using a Prusa Mendel i2, 3mm PLA, .35 nozzle, heated bed.

Thanks!

Layer height looks too high. The 0.35 nozzle should have layer height something like 0.2. Have your seen Prusa's calculators?

Thanks, I'll give that a try. Currently my layer height is set to .35 in Slic3r. I had come across the calculators during my initial research and bookmarked the page. Now that I'm printing it's time to revisit and use it!

Check your Z axis steps/mm setting. The 20mm cube seems too tall to me, but it's kind of hard to tell from the photo.
