Multiple Object Issue
April 10, 2012 09:59AM
When printing more than one object (I have only tried this once so far) I can tell exactly where the nozzle leaves and reenters a part. There is a pronounced rib on the side of the part for each layer where it crosses the part boundary, (sticks out maybe 1mm) It can easily be trimmed and cleaned up but is there a way to not make it do this? I will try posting a picture tonight.

Also, outer surfaces are very smooth and look great but if I have a cut out on the inside those surfaces dont look as even.

Sprinter, Slic3r, Pronterface, Prusa2, .32 layer height, 240 nozzle temp(not calibrated may be less), ABS, unknown heatbed temp

Using retraction should cure this. The critical settings are length (1-2 mm normally works) and speed (has to be slow enough, I have had to go to 13 or 20 mm/s on different setups).

This is the best test piece for this that I have seen: Retraction test
