My name is Loren and I'm just about to start building a Prusa! I'm in Mandaluyong/Makati. Getting the PLA, motors, electronics, plastic parts, and hot end from a variety of US and Canadian online stores.

Hi!

I too am working on building a 3d Printer. I work overseas right now but will be back home to Antipolo in March. I am purchasing a CNC plasma table to open a shop and to make my own 3D printer in BIG size.

I will start posing here more often the closer I come to going home and opening up shop.

Hi everyone,

I am no good in electronics but I'm really fascinated with 3D Printers. In fact, I bought and assembled my own Makerbot last year. My interest has been clouded for a while by work but the yearning is still inside.

In furtherance of this interest, I'm looking for a Facebook group devoted for 3D printers or any group that I can join. It is better to relate with fellow Filipinos most of the time. hahaha!

(I may be even willing to lend or "invest" for everyone's consumption my bot if its proves to be necessary for the further development and study of 3D printers in the Philippines.)

Thanks!

@ byseame

Check e-gizmo for arduino boards, stepper motor, stepper motor drivers and other electronics. You can get bearings and threaded rods at hardware stores.

If you ask them nicely and present the project they might even help you in locally building the hot ends. As for the rp parts either ebay or go with wood for now

Hi,

Do you have a picture of your linear slides. I'm interested on how you designed your x/y platform.

Thanks!

Hi there,

Getting closer to opening up my CNC shop in Antipolo. My CNC torch table finally arrived. will be opening shop in March.

I can cut most any shape from plate steel and aluminum with a couple thousandth of inch accuracy.

I am looking to collaborate with 3D printer builders in the Metro Manila area. I can trade CNC cutting services for design and engineering work.

I am involved with the open source movement and have already collaborated on a CEB Press (building blocks to make houses from soil)

I have the tools to build a makerbot or ultimaker.

hit me up at metzindustries @t gmail
Anyone planning to have meet-up builds or etc..?

I am unsure the date I will be home. I am working in Kuwait but I will be home in a few months. I have not gotten a 3D printer machine yet, I was planning on building one from scratch and buying only some of the electronics and hardware. I have a CNC plasma table that I can cut out gears, and other parts on. I am still learning how to use the software, it has been a big challenge to learn. I have most of the other shop tools, welders(mig, stick, spot), hand, power tools. No drill press, lathe or milling machine yet however.

I would like to host a meetup at the shop when I get home, network and go from there. Looking for the right people to replicate the Ultimaker and Printerbot enterprise in Phils.

I already work with a couple other open source hardware groups, Open Source Ecology, and Open Source Resilient Living.

At Open source Resilient living we have have gotten from discussion to blueprints and prototype of a machine that makes adobe blocks in only 2 months. I am a frequent contributor to the Open Source Ecology forum and 'true fan' financial supporter over there with the Factor E Farm project.
