Hi All

I would like to know how to configure a Arduino Mega 2650 and RAMPS 1.4 to use old printer parts to make a 3D printer.

is there any marlin config to setup DC motors and linear encoders ?
has someone written any code for these ?
otherwise should I be using different hardware ?

Any help would be much appreciated

There is a diy-driver that translates step/dir signals for steppers into signals for DC motors with encoder, but there is no firmware ( yet ) that deals directly with a closed loop drive.
Search closed loop and 30gr extruder for more info.
