hey i just accidentally shorted the connection in d9 (printer was printing and operational till then)and then immediately the printer freezed and the display was out when connected on the atx power supply and the screen showed up when connected through usb cable to printer
what could be the possible damages

Define shorted out? Connected +12v to Gnd?
If so power supply would have been very unhappy and would have shut off. If it has short circuit protection leaving it off for a while then turn it back on, everything should be fine. If there was no protection the power supply may be fried, new power supply time.
