How to connect heated bed to my ramps

Hallo

Just bought a small 12 x 12 cm heated bed it is supossed to be a MK2b however when trying to find instruction I find another type.

Anyhow mine looks like this

II am not sure how to connect it. There are 5 wires

- HEAT; + 12 V ; SIG; 5V; GND

I presume -HEAT and + 12V are going to D8, and then SIG and GND need to go to the thermistor connection ?

Is that right or will I have another frying experience?

No need to connect the 5V ?

I've not see this board before, but looking at what we can see the 5v line is part on the on board thirmistor circuit. This would imply its meant to plug the sig line into a analog pin directly vs a pin with thirmistor circuitry on the main pcb (as found on most boards including ramp)

so "- HEAT; + 12 V" are the heating element for D8
Sig goes go a free Analog pin (I would use Aux-1, and use the A3, +5 and gnd pins for SIG; 5V; GND on this bed)

Then you need to update your firmware to use A3 for the heated bed thirmister pin. .

But this is a educated guess

Hey

Got it connected and working

-heat and 12v for power

And

Gnd and Sig for themistor

were the correct paires.

Just one problem if i cranck it up to 100 degrees it go's very slow and around 80 degrees it gives an error and switches to dry run mode. So heat-up stops.

Checked the power supply its rated at 25 A should be OK.

Any tips to get this fixed.

It really needs some insulation under it

Cork is good, wool based felt works well.
Corrugated Cardboard works better than nothing.

as Dust just said regarding cork +1 !!

I got sheets of it from a local dollar store... supposed to have been things you put hot cookware on....

cut it up, works ace 5mm thick for 2$ Canadian!

Might want to verify the correct thermistor, must match setting in software. Which do you have?
