Gen7 stacking boards
June 28, 2014 09:39AM
I'd like to upgrade my printer with LCD, fan control, SD, Bluetooth and dual extrusion support. These features are provided by "ExtensionBoard 2E" and "Gen7 ExtensionBoard LCD SD FAN" as stated in the wiki.

So my question is: can I stack them both on my Gen7?
I heard you can stack as many shields as you want on top of an Arduino... can I do this also with a Gen7?

Whenever you stack boards you have to make sure the intermediate boards have headers allowing this. Like here, which shows an empty board with just headers for stacking: [reprap.org]

You can't stack multiple boards on RAMPS, at least not on this RAMPS variant: [reprap.org] Here's a RAMPS variant allowing stacking: [reprap.org] Perhaps you see the difference.
