I think
there is someway to burn both the bootloader set the fuses and load the firmware all in one swoop with an arduino mega2560.
If any of you could link me detailed instructions I would be greatful it might help my problems and well I could make a shield for that and etch is for future use

Hi,
You don need any shield at all. Simply wire the ISP assigned pins in Arduino MEGA to the ISP header in Gen7, like in:

Check further instructions on how to disable auto-reset in Arduino, and voila! (for me it works
