What is a firmware that is simple to use and basic that I can upload to a Atmega 1284p on a Gen 7 1.5 for use as a simple 3 axis mill?

I am new to programming and have been having problems with teacup, marlin and sprinter on the ardunio IDE

got the boot loader uploaded with the USBASP and the test firmware working

Any help would be much appreciated spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

Have you tried the Repetier web config tool for building custom firmware?

Teacup is the smallest and fastest firmware. It doesn't have as many features as Marlin or Repetier, but has worked out essential stuff more carefully. Accordingly you get movements always respecting physics and up to 3 times higher step rates than e.g. Repetier.
