The only real issue I've seen with the cooling block above the effector is there is less room for fans. I modified a E3d clone similar to what you did for my first effector. I've since switched to a Prometheus hot end.

What's that effector made of? Looks metallic... aluminium? I'm thinking that a plastic one is going to soften and warp quite quickly.

Hi Frank,

It's aluminium. I've done my time with plastic effectors, moved to metal, and I'm not going back. There are loads on ebay, but the one I've got is this one:
