Preheat 240C

Preheat 240C
May 17, 2016 11:21AM
When doing a preheat with the LCD the temperature does not reach desired setting of 240C
seems to hover below temp and showing percentage that varies.
Useing Cura and setting the same temp 240C still the same and preventing the start of the print
for not reaching the set temp.
Anyone encounter this?

Thanks
Frank

... is it heating OK without LCD?

The LCD pulls some current from the +5V, so could be your voltage drops and so the reference voltage for the analogue measuring.

If it's a limiting problem - the allowed max. temps for the heaters are set in the firmware ...

Hi
It is ok for temps up 220c but then it seems to struggle to reach the 240c stopping at 238.3 or close.
Without Lcd such as Cura same readings.
Also the fan is on at 100% and changed to 75% with no effect

If these setting are related to the hotend.

Extr.1 head manager [0-3] set at 1

(I need an explanation of what this setting does and what I can set it at
same as the other settings related to the hotend heater and thermister)

Ext. 1 PID max value [0-255] set at 255

Any other settings I should consider?

Thanks

... could be it's hitting the thermal limits - try to rise the driving voltage to see, if the max temp reaches 240degC, or can even be higher ...
