advice on bars lubrification issue

Dear All

I'm building a derived rostock printer using linear bearings and stub bars (see attachment) ; of course I'm figuring out how to lubricate it:
- grease cannot be used for practical (and obvious) reasons
- neither graphite powder due to the vertical sense of the bearings
- oil .. except for a sticky touch reason, combined with dust and any external pollution it'll contaminate the bearing (and then mid-term expected troubles)

Any suggestion ?

Thanks

Paul

For one, you need to pack the linear bearings with grease before you install them. I used synthetic axle bearing grease on mine. Then I actually brush on the same grease on the rods every 100 hours or so. That works for me. Close to 500hours print time on my machine. The bearings are still tight.
