My Delta-1
December 04, 2014 10:34AM
Here are some of the updates on my 3D printer. Its made out of 16mm MDF CNC machined on my router. The good thing i am doing in this using inductive proximity switches NPN (NO type)and made a optoisolated PCB to work on 12V with Arduino logic level. I shall use the same switch for my autocalibration routine winking smiley
I have used Marlin firmware for delta printer. During testing the electronics i was confused when i moved X-axis(A-axis) and all motors were running. I thought there is interference of signal. I dismantled the board, switch over the motor driver and i dont know how many troubleshooting i have done but all went vain. Then suddenly i realized its DELTA printer winking smiley... Lolz... so a guy like me from CNC world when we jog one axis the only that axis jog...in this case i puzzled bt thanks God all went well winking smiley..

Looks like a nice build. Are you planing to seal the MDF somehow?

I sealed my wooden parts with a mixture or acetone and ABS plastic. Its proving to be a wonderful technique. It really made the wood much harder as well due to porosity. The ABS should be in the consistency of pudding or slightly thinner to use a scrap brush on.

Normally i use miwater+white glue for MDF sealing. Presently not want to seal as i want it complete and start printing. Later i shall decide what to do for colouring.

i CNC machined cooling fan holder from 1mm Aluminum, bend it, mounted the fan and all things goes well in assembling as desired. The cooling fan shall cool the stepper motors controller cards mounted on the RAMPS 1.4.

I am a bit confused wiring the heatbed and the extruder to RAMPS1.4. Can someone guide me if i am wrong in following :
1- Wiring HEATBED of my Delta to D08 on RAMPS1.4
2- Wiring heatbed thermistor to T0 on RAMPS1.4
3- Wiring Extruder heating element to D10 on RAMPS
4- Wiring extruder thermisitor to T1 on RAMPS
5- Where to wire extruder FAN for PID control?

I will be using latest marlin firmware with auto calbration. Where i should wire the auto calibration limit switch?
Regards
