Hi guys,

I have started with a new delta printer in the Fablab in Munich. It is 1,4m high and has a diameter of 65cm.

The goals for this project are:
  1. All parts should be producible with the resources of a common Fablab, (laser cutter, 3D printer, small lathe)
  2. Design as easy as possible
  3. No tinkered electronics/parts

Let´s get started!

The frame:
I use a 40x40mm aluminium profiles. Three C-shaped elements are held together by wooden lasered plates.

The belt tensioner:
I have seen so many 3Dprinters with belts and no chance to adjust the tenison - not here:

The Effector:
I use a 3-sphere-effector:

Hotend&Extruder
E3Dv5 (3mm) + Bowden + Airtripper

Pardon for my English..

The controller:
I use a RaspberryPi with (Octoprint) installed on it, to access my printer. With Yaler, I am able to securly access it over the internet.

So Far!

Questions? Suggestions? Criticism?

Cheers
Jean

At this size are you considering cross bracing the frame or do you find that this is stable enough?
Im planning a wolfstock with 1m height and was wondering whether its necessary or not.

Also what are you using for sliders in the carriages?
