Stepper Motor choice for original Rostock?

Hello Guys;

First time builder, and I am slowly gathering parts for a rostock build. I still have yet to purchase some of the parts.

I gather I need NEMA17 motors with 5mm shafts. With that being said, I have seen nema17 motors in varying sizes, from 34mm to 40mm. Varying price as well, from 5usd to 50usd per piece. Any recommendations for a cheap source of parts? I have about 190usd in parts on order as of now.

Second question is regarding a good source of belts & pulleys. Any ideas or recommendations?

My plan is to build this thing for as low a price as possible then get it running, once running I plan on upgrading parts as I see fit. This printer will eventualy get a heated chamber to print in ABS and a precision thermostat and exhaust to get rid of the fumes. Its the reason I picked the smooth rod version vs the t-slot version.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Posting where you're at in the world might help some to suggest local cheap part vendors.....
