I just came across this and could not find a reference to it on the forum. It looks very promising.

What is TRobot?

Looks like fun,

I can't imagine it could be used for anything useful though. At least in this state of development, the frame oscillates way too much to do anything productive. Change it from 1/9 scale to 1/5, use steppers instead of servos and a more rigid construction and it would be fine.

And this software will probably cost more than an army of those miniature robots winking smiley

I got a TROBOT 3.0, from the kickstarter that was run this summer.
It works fairly well (connected to 6-channel RC receiver) but as you say, it`s the software that makes it. I know there are some open-source arm drivers, so I am currently soldering two different shields for my MSP430 and I`ll see its capabilites then.
The arm is well made, laser-cut plastic winking smiley

Could make a cool 3D pick-and-place machine if you can get it onto a platform that slides into a build area?

Or print detail pieces first that are 'welded' onto the main structure and held in place by something like this?
