Mounting a Titan extruder on a Solidoodle printer

Mounting a Titan extruder on a Solidoodle printer

The nightmare of an extruder on the Solidoodle at the Milwaukee Makerspace had to go! I measured the extruder carriage and found it was extremely easy to make a mount for the Titan that would work on the Solidoodle's carriage without any other modifications. I also added an E3D Lite 6 hot-end.

The mount is just a 4 mm thick printed plate with appropriately placed holes. I shifted the extruder a little to the left to allow easy access to the mounting screws on either side of the hot-end's heat sink. I am using the Solidoodle's extruder motor.

I got the wrong heater block with the hot-end, so the installation isn't complete yet, but will be as soon as they send me a new cartridge type thermistor.
