Z motors not working

Hi!

Building a prusa i3 from the replikeo kit with an e3d hot end and have been having some trouble getting either of the Z-motors to work. I have tested all motors, endstops and connections, all work fine however I cannot get either of them to move even slightly when in the z-axis. There is not even any sound coming from them when I send a command.

I am slightly new to this so I wonder if it's a problem with my RAMPS board or perhaps my firmware (although I have downloaded from a number of different sources and re-uploaded to no affect).

Any help would be hugely appreciated!

In your firmware make sure you have the correct steps per mm. Steps per mm Calculator
Next, make sure jumpers are underneath the stepper driver. Then try the driver on another axis and make sure it works fine.
Also, check that the motor connectors are the same orientation.
I would also check for solder bridges underneath the Ramps board are not shorting anything out.
