First time with stepper

Hi everybody,

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but I can not find a proper answer for my doubt.

I am currently trying to build my first 3d printer, but I have some problem with the stepper / stepper driver. I can not understand how the current/power supply relation works.

At home I have some motors that are rated as
  • 3.4V/phase
  • 2.1A/phase
  • 1.6ohm/phase

If I have a 24v power supply can I drive two of them with a single drv8825 driver?
If I have to power 6 of those motors, how much power do my power supply has to provide?

I also have another doubt about the stepper driver. If I have a ramps/radds shield, can I connect the driver to the shield without the vmot pin soldered? So I can solder a wire to it and provide external power supply (for example 24v for the stepper, while powering the shield with 12v). I know that I also have to put a decoupling capacitor, has described in the data sheet.

Thanks everybody for the help, and sorry if already discussed.
