Cura and top layer angle

I noticed a weird result when I tried to use brim: when I compare brim layer finishing it is pretty much perfect. It is better than the bottom or top layer suftace of the actual item. There are very little brim settings in 14.03: Number of brim lines. I assume it uses exactly the same setting than bottom layer printing in general. I mean speed, flow etc.

But... what makes brim surface som much better? The only difference as far as I can tell is printing angle. Brim is horisontal/vertical rather than bottom/top surface which has 45 degree angle printing direction. Actually there are more cooling time between lines when printing brim comparing to the bottom/top layer.

Anyone else noticed difference?

Axel.
