From Raft to Beach

From Raft to Beach

An idea came to me while trying to add an anchoring disk to a corner of a part that always peels up.

Since my print bed is level, I have never really needed RAFT, but I can see a BEACH being usefull at keeping those corners pinned down,

It might be implemented as a modified skirt that extends out from the part edge. Cutting away a couple of layers should be easier than trying to pull away a raft in most cases.

Maybe this has been discussed before?

Yes, it was discussed. There's a modified skirt plugin to support brim (similar to Slic3r's brim)

@jcabrer, did you try to print several skirt layers very close to the part? they keep heat near to the part, I have good results with 20 skirt layers for example, with a very little "Gap over Perimeter Width"…

That is a good suggestion. I have used this in the past, and it does work sometimes
