In the "help" tab - same level as "craft", "analyse", etc - there is a version number.

It's not the download version number then. My skeinforge 50 (from file 50_reprap_python_beanshell.zip) has 12.03.14 there.

Most of my technical comments should be correct, but is THIS one ?
Anyway, as a rule of thumb, always double check what people write.

Oops, posts crossed, Bob.

Oh that actually looks like a date.

Many Thanks RHMorrison for your help

I was looking into Help in menu, good to know that it is in Help tab, isn't it better to put the actual version number instead of only date.

Thanks

I did the googling on this earlier and it leads me to below link on SF wiki

[fabmetheus.crsndoo.com]

Version Numbering
There is now a date string in version.txt in the folder skeinforge_utilities in skeinforge_tools. The version date string is added in the content of the gcode output.

(I don't see any version string in my gcode output though)

The text above doesn't talk about Help tab, thanks for that picture rhmorrision a better way to look for version details. At that time I was wondering about a connection between date and version. So thanks for that second picture from download page. Here again there is no version number but if we move the mouse on file download link we could see file name in status bar like what 'DeuxVis' suggested '50_reprap_python_beanshell.zip' - the number 50 is the SF version that people talk about in different thread.

Hope this thread will help other novice users of SF in future. smiling smiley

You are probably removing comments from the gcode.
