I have recently launched a website/blog for my large scale RepStrap: www.GrassRootsEngineering.com

More pictures of my machine can be found here: http://www.grassrootsengineering.com/blog/mymachine/

eye popping smiley Wow! That is one big RepStrap.

Do you heat that entire Aluminium base? that's got to be 10+Kg of Alu How much power is that heatbed using?

What is your print speed like and what ballscrews are you using?

And finally is it all mounted on another massive chunk of Aluminium plate?

I'm a bit gob-smacked... I though my repstrap was getting a bit heavy at 20KG.

I'm not even going to guess what that lot cost...

Very impressive, well done.smileys with beer

Thanks Rich!

Yes the entire bed is heated, and it uses around 480W. A zone heating system is on my to-do list to lower power consumption when printing small parts.
I'm using 3/8"-8 two start ACME Threaded Rod on the X and Y axes and 3/8"-12 single start on the Z axis. Print speed is not too bad, the X and Y axes move at around 20mm/s. I will be increasing this a bit once I get some higher output stepper drivers.
Yes, everything is mounted on a very stable 2 x 4 foot, 3/4 inch thick [610 x 1220 x 19 mm] slab of aluminum that weighs around ~90lb [~40kg].

Jim,

That's a lovely machine. Would you like to stuff it into the wiki, including parts lists, cad files, etc?

say:
http://reprap.org/wiki/Grass_Roots_Engineering_RepStrap
or
http://reprap.org/wiki/Grass_Roots_T-Slot_Bot smiling bouncing smiley

We've already got a number of documentation stubs going on here:
http://reprap.org/wiki/T-Slot

but no actual completed machines to wave at new folk: "Build one of these here in the wiki, (what? You speak german? Here's the german translation in the wiki as well.)

Hi Sebastien. I am not quite ready yet to start a wiki page as my machine is still a work in progress. I don't really have parts lists, CAD, etc. together at this time.

Hey disneytoy, I actually made a nice time lapse video of it printing. You can watch the video here:
