Hotbed not working
December 27, 2015 08:26PM
Two days ago I acquired a Prusa i3 3D printer for Christmas.
I assembled it quickly, and turned it on and found no problems.
I tried to print something, but I found that since the hotbed was not heated, the PLA would not stick to the board for the first layer.
I think it is a problem with the port since when I placed the wires for the hotbed in to to wires for the nozzle, and the hotbed heated perfectly fine.
I have no clue how to go about fixing this problem and could really use some assistance.
By the way, the LCD screen says 0/0 by default, and when I try to preheat the hotbed, it turns to 0/70, but the temperature does not change.
I fumbled around with the wires and got a MINTEMP error, but when I reset the machine the error went away.

the bed reporting 0c is a break in the heated bed thermistor cable or the thermistor is not configured in the firmware

Unplug the heated bed thermistor on your controller and plug it into the hot end thermistor plug, does it now read room temp on the hotend? if it does its a board or firmware issue. If its doesn’t then its cable or dead bed thermistor
