somethings wrong.. electronics maybe?

First off, thanks for taking the time to read this post.

SO here is the deal, I have built a Prusa i3 kit from Foldger Tech. It seems to be a decent enough kit. A friend of mine who is now 1200 miles away helped with the configuration setup, and I had it to the point where I could move the head, got the bed level and such.

Then I had to move. So I am finally back at it, and I tried to heat up the bed and the extruider and I get nothing. They don't heat at all. (I was using repeatier) I double checked the connections and I do not have loose wires, nor does anything to be shorted.

So can someone give me some suggestions as to what I need to check next? Is this an issue with my software maybe?

TIA

untill someone with knowledge to ur printer answer why dont you try with and external 12v power supply to see if the bed is working ( probably it does ) . So then you would be focus on the board or the software .
just connect the heatbed for a few seconds to a 12v source.

That is a good idea thanks. By chance do you know the voltage I could use to do the same for the extruder?

Cheers!

man i just assume the 12 volts for ur heatbed . I dont want you to do any damage to ur printer relying on my lack of knowledge. When i am trying to test something that work on dc i am starting on the safe side . That means i am starting giving low power with low amperage. Imagine that a 12v device in my personal opinion wont get damage if you give 6-8 volts. The worst thing is that the device wont work

The best way is to google what are the specs of ur heatbed and hotend.

Gaou,

Thank you once more for the suggestion. I used my power supply to power up both the extruder hotend and the hot bed, both gained temp at acceptable rates and achieved greater heating then has been observed to date.

This leads me to believe that there is something wrong in either the setup or I am not able to get power from the ramps to the devices.

Anyone have any ideas?

Cheers!

im also having this same issue with the heatbed and hotend.

ill try connecting the heatbed and hotend directly to the 12V power supply

i got my board and firmware from Foldger Tech

im getting 12.69volts on D8 and D10 and its just weird how its not turning on.

Defcon,

Sorry I have not been watching for replies, things have been busy as of late.

Were you able to get your system working? What was the result of your 12V test?

Cheers!
