Problem with printing on prusa i3
February 18, 2015 07:15PM
Hi guys, I've just finished to assemble my new prusa i3.

But when I try to print on the standard glass the extruder makes a ball of Pla and not a linear printing.
What's the cause? Maybe the temp? Or the Z height from the printing bed?
I cannot find what is the correct height..
Please help smiling smiley

Sounds like the nozzle is too far away from the bed. Heat up your hot end so the plastic at the end is nice and soft and won't affect your setting. Place a piece of paper under the nozzle and home the Z axis. If the paper moves freely with no drag, your nozzle is too far away. If the paper won't move, your nozzle is too close. After homing the Z axis, the paper should move reasonably freely with a small amount of drag from the nozzle contacting the paper.
