Stepper issues in Prusa i3
January 17, 2015 10:29AM
Hi, yesterday I finished building my Prusa i3 but when I tested the movement the steppers just vibrate and move randomly. This is happening for all three axis, I'm trying to figure out what is happening and this is what I tested for now:

- Verified that the stepper is wired as expected
- Verified the voltage of each pololu ( ~400 mv from the potentiometer to GND)
- Now I'm testing each driver and stepper individually

My motors are moving like this one:

I'll upload a video of my steppers if it's needed.

Regards

Sounds like you need to increase the amperage by turning the pots a little clockwise. Otherwise, you could have something restricting the movement...

Hi MindRealm, thank you for your reply. Finally I figured out my issue. The problem was that my steppers came wired in a different order than my board, so my pins didn't match. I had to rewire them to match the coil sequence. and now it's working like a charm :3
