Beginer Questions

So Im about to start buying parts to build my first 3d printer. Im thinking im going to make the prus i3. I found the plastic parts on ebay for a prusa mendel i3 and was wondering if these would work on a box style frame with a e3d extruder head? Is ebay usually the cheapest place to buy parts? any suggestions or information i should know before getting started? Thanks

For your first printer, consider building an open source design from a kit. It may cost a little more, but it will save you a lot of time. In particular, some kits come with all the wiring looms pre-made. I have built an Ormerod and a Mini Kossel from kits, and I can recommend both of them. See my blog entry [miscsolutions.wordpress.com] for more.

The RepRapPro is an Ok machine with good support, but don't bother with the multi version
