Hot End Temperature Issue

Hot End Temperature Issue
August 14, 2014 07:09PM
I recently bought a kit for the makerfarm prusa i3v printer, and everything worked pretty well (I even got one print out of it) but after that first print the temperature of the hotend would never go above ~15 degrees beneath the target temperature, no matter what the target was. I checked to make sure there was a solid physical connection with the hot end for both the ceramic heater and the thermister, but neither of those were bad. I wiggled the thermister around in it's slot to see if there was an optimal position for heat transfer, but that didn't help either. It also does not work to set the target temp really high to trick the printer into heating it more, then lowering the target temperature so that the temp read by the thermister is momentarily higher than the target--the temperature just drops to ~15 below the target no matter what and the print never starts. Is there any sort of offset that I can adjust to calibrate the thermister? Thanks,

Matan
