Accidentally shortened Mendel Prusa 2

I recently bought a Mendel Prusa 2 and already have made a few cool prints. Today i accidentally shortened the temperature-sensor with the extruder causing permanent errors. I dont now what to do now. I recieve the following errors;

Error:Temperature heated bed switched off. MAXTEMP triggered !!
[ERROR] Error:Temperature heated bed switched off. MAXTEMP triggered !!

I use Pronterface, the temperature is stays stuck on 298 celcius for the heater and bed.

When disconnecting the connector of the temperature sensor on the board, the temperature drops 20 degrees.

It sounds like the thermistor is destroyed. Maxtemp gets triggered when the sensor is open circuit or extremely high resistance. To be sure, I would check it with an ohm meter.
