I'm producing a new version of my hot end board for the Ormerod, and as the Mendel hot end is almost identical, it occurred to me that a variant of the board may be of interest to Mendel users too. The main features of the board are a differential IR sensor to trigger at a fixed height above the bed for z-height setting and bed levelling, thermostatic control of the fan (fan is turned on when hot end thermistor is above 40C or thermistor is disconnected), and LED illumination of the area under the nozzle.
