Prusa I3 motor issues
May 11, 2014 08:45PM
Hey all, I bought and built a DIY tech prusa i3, and I have been having one hell of a problem when trying to get the thing to work. I loaded Marlin on the board, went through the configuration, open pronterface, and nothing happens. The motors do not move, the heaters do not work, the only thing that happens is the motors buzz when I hit home axes. Does anyone have any insight on this problem? Thanks!

Have you set the correct motherboard config in Marlin?

I have, #33, ramps 1.4. That is obviously not the problem though.

Is it a possibility that my RAMPS board is DOA? Some things do work, like the fan header were you are supposed to solder in a fan does supply 12v. Does anyone have any insight?

I got the same issue with a prusa i3 . Everything is working but motors are not moving.

I tried to connect the cable in both ways, but nothing change.

I followed this instructions:

[reprap.org]

I could connect the printer to Printrun. heat and bed are working.

I can send an object to print but motors do not get the signal .
I do not know what is the problem.
I have a LCD screen connected and things seem to be ok.

attached my configuration file.

Please can anybody help me? Thank you.

does it all work going through the lcd panel if you have jog dial. have you had the motors previously working? if not check your giving them the correct power, check your endstops to m119 make sure they working they can cause motors not to run

Here is my config file, but keep in mind that none of the electronics are working. Any advice is appreciated, but remeber that I am a noob and you will have to spell everything out for me. Thank you!

Quick question Chris, I realized I didn't mention I am using Marlin firmware. What firmware are you using because when I tried to load you config.h, it looked nothing like the one from Marlin. Thanks!

So today I uploaded the Sprinter firmware and I had some improvements. Instead of the motors not responding to any manual controls, the motors now jerk the axis around. It still doesn't properly move, and the heaters do not receive any power at all. Any ideas? Thanks a lot!
