First prints [20mm boxes]
February 26, 2014 03:42PM
Hello

I've just completed my mendel and printed some calibration cubes.
Opinions? Advices? What to do with the pointy corners?

Infill= 0.4
Nozzle diameter = 0.3mm
Layer height = 0.2mm , 1st = 85%
Bed temp = 55, 1st = 60
Hot end temp = 180, 1st=185
PLA [diameter +-10% 1.75mm]

Thanks in advance

What are you using for cooling? What speed are you printing at?

Most likely the pointed corners are due to the PLA not having enough time to cool off before the next layer is printed. Try printing a few boxes at the same time, or slow down your print speed. Otherwise the prints look pretty good.

Thank you for few points..

I slowed my print speed from 50mm/s to 15 mm/s and added a fan to blow directly on the print it self..
IMO the quality improved alot, also no pointy corners..

This vase was printed @ 0.15 layer height.. gonna increase the resolution even more in the future. smiling bouncing smiley
